How did I get here?

How did I get here?

Well, I appreciate your question and to be honest with you I had been living in New York City. I’d been trying to build my acting career up but it wasn’t really going well. I’m sure you understand how that goes. And I was waiting tables in a cute little cafe in the East Village and I was also singer songwriting on several projects. I also painted. I sculpted. I liked to write poetry. But I really felt that it interfered with my community service. Where I worked at several soup kitchens. Eating the leftover soup. I would eat the old food that the men didn’t want. And then I kind of slowly drifted for years and years working from cafe to cafe, traveled around the world. Climbed Mt. Everest. I worked as a lobsterman on a riverboat which is very surprising. And then I settled in Philadelphia, rebonded with the roots of my youth. And my family and my friends. And I said what’s in it for me now? You’re just sitting there one day, having a glass of rose looking out at the sky. You’re like, what is it? What do I need to do? What’s good for me? Who am I? And I found comedy. I haven’t looked back since. It’s been a lovely, fantastic ride. Maybe I’ll write a book. I also want to do some singing and directing. A little more acting. You know. Maybe start a family. I don’t know. Funny, I was telling my girlfriend Meredith the other day. You’ve met her. Well, you’ll meet her. And you’ll love her. She’s amazing. I was telling her the other day. Maybe it’s time to travel a little bit more. Get out of town. See the world. Maybe just enjoy life.
