Well, well, well. Look who it is.
A multidisciplinarian.
MOST OF THIS STARTED when I was about 14 or 15, learning how to make Winamp skins. I also taught myself how to make maps for first-person shooters, and I’d toil late into the school night, mercilessly increasing polygon count in 3ds Max, straining my overclocked, repentant PC. And I’d cobble together websites for friends’ bands or my numerous Counter-Strike clans.
But then, seemingly overnight, it all changed. A new standard for web emerged, and Adobe Flash struck me down in a fit of frustrating, nascent fury. So I pivoted: ingesting mini-DV tapes, focusing on editing and sound design. I pored over color. Then I really picked up the camera, started working with talent, writing, jamming, leading crews. I ran a couple production companies, the first with friends, the second solo. I worked at an ad agency. Then a software company.
I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with an exquisite mix of artists, marketers and executives at unicorn companies who understand the power of story - especially when you're trying to raise, say, half a billion dollars. Now I’m looking for what’s next and hoping it’s in a glass, if you know what I mean. (Kidding… sort of.)
Like Bill Fay’s old dad said, “Life is people.” Took me a minute to get that one. But it explains why I’m such a Herzoghead.
Anyway, thanks for stopping in.
